Press strategy and delivery

Since September 2017, I have been working with Business Disability Forum, supporting them to develop and deliver their press strategy and increase their press profile and hit rate.

“Sarah has provided ongoing press support to the Business Disability Forum over the last year, helping to develop and deliver press strategy and messaging. She is quick to understand an organisation’s needs and very skilled at working with in-house teams, getting the balance right between providing skilled directional input and developing existing staff.”

- Diane Lightfoot, CEO, Business Disability Forum

Writing and researching

In 2018, I was commissioned by Business Disability Forum to research and write two guides on meeting the needs of disabled customers and accessible communication. In 2019, I was commissioned to write two online resources.

“Sarah helped us update two Business Disability Forum guides; collecting and collating feedback from a diverse group of public and private sector businesses. Her advice led us to radically re-think one guide creating a fresh, new offering which addresses a previously unmet business need. Her approach is both professional and inclusive ensuring that a wide range of voices are heard in order to create the best solution possible.”

- Bela Gor, Head of Campaigns and Legal, Business Disability Forum

Public affairs and policy

During 2017 and 2018, I provided secretariat support to Learning Disability Voices, a coalition of learning disability organisations campaigning for better funding and provision of social care.

“Sarah is an experienced public affairs professional who delivers good results with a no fuss approach. Knowing her previous experience, we asked Sarah to provide secretariat support to Learning Disability Voices, a membership organisation which has been engaging the Government on a sensitive campaign. Sarah displayed good judgement in dealing with tricky issues and a strong problem-solving approach to getting things sorted.”

- Tim Cooper, Co-Chair, Learning Disability Voices
